Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Orthopedic Surgery
Rush University Medical Center/Central DuPage Adult Joint Reconstruction Fellowship Program

This fellowship is designed to help fellows develop skills in the specialized care of joint replacement patients, and in research related to biomaterials and biomechanics as applied to hip and knee joint replacement.

Emphasis is placed on patient care and on clinical and laboratory research. Extensive laboratory opportunities include gait, biomechanics, biomaterials, and tissue engineering facilities. As a tertiary care center, complex reconstructive problems are often addressed and new techniques are evaluated. Over 1,000 total hip and 1,000 total knee replacements, including a large volume of complex revision procedures, are performed annually. The fellowship also includes significant exposure to minimally invasive surgical techniques. Each fellow will produce a clinical paper appropriate for presentation or publication.

This is a Rush based fellowship with time divided between Rush and Central DuPage Hospital which is located approximately 33 miles from the city. The fellowship accepts six fellows per year.
