Kidney (Renal) Transplant Program

The Kidney (Renal) Transplant Program at Rush is a nationally ranked program offering comprehensive evaluation and transplant services for adults and children with chronic kidney failure. The surgical team performs cadaveric renal transplants, living related donor transplants and living unrelated donor transplants.

Patients are cared for by an experienced team of professionals, including:

  • Transplant surgeons
  • Adult and pediatric nephrologists
  • Clinical nurse coordinators
  • Organ procurement coordinators
  • Patient services liaisons
  • Social workers

In addition to our Rush offices, the team provides care for patients following surgery at a satellite office in west suburban Oak Brook, Illinois.

Renal transplantation is a treatment option for end-stage renal disease. Once a patient has been diagnosed, the transplant evaluation can begin with a phone call to our office. Our secretary can provide general information. A transplant nurse coordinator is available to answer specific questions about treatment.
