The faculty consists of three groups: general obstetricians and gynecologists, subspecialists and research scientists. The excellence of the faculty allows Rush to carry on the proud tradition of providing not only a high level of medical care, but also excellent training of residents and comprehensive teaching of medical students.

A variety of weekly teaching programs provide the faculty an opportunity to maintain a current approach to providing care for women. The subspecialists and research scientists in the department conduct a variety of research projects, which enables them to bring to the public the most innovative care for women. The subspecialists impart to the generalists the necessary support that allows our generalists to practice an extremely high level of care. The research scientists of the department continuously develop an understanding of a variety of disease processes as well as develop new therapeutic agents.
